Thiruvaiyaru Gurumoorthy is an eminent mridangist who is a prime disciple of Palani M Subramaniam Pillai. He is one of the follower of Pudukkotai style of mridangam playing.He is able to play many tecniques in thoppi (left side of mridangam) which was established by his Guru Great Palani Subramaniam Pillai.He is very efficient in teaching mridangam. R.R.Suresh And Ambathur K Babu are the senior disciples of Thiruvaiyaru Sri Gurumoorthy.
