Born in Ambattur,Tamil nadu.Was very well intrested in mridangam and had his first training in mridangam under Sri Thiruvaiyaru Gurumoorthy ,who was a prime disciple of mridangam legend Sri Palani Subramaniam Pillai.Then he came under the guidance of mridangam maestro Sri Guruvayur Dorai.He studied under Sri Dorai for nine years.Still today he is performing for many leading carnatic artits.He is also skilled in mridangam teaching.He has many students in Kerala,Tamil Nadu,Bangalore and also in foreign countries.He is an 'A' grade artist of All India Radio (Trichy).At present he is a guest faculty of Bharthiya Vidhya Bhavan & Santhalinga Adigalar College,Coimbatore.He is in This field for the past 25 years.He has visited foriegn countries for concerts and workshops.He has recieved the Asthana Vidwan title from Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.He has also performed in Laya Madhura Yagna of 108 mridangam artists.He was the founder of "GANDHARVA GANA SABHA",Ambathur and the secratary till the year 2000.Though he is a mridangist and the organiser of a sabha,He didn't played for any concerts organised by himself.In 2001 the sabha was handed over to Mr Rajashekar Vaidhya By Sri K.Babu.
